On April 1, 2009, SCAN and the Allies in Prevention Coalition hosted the 7th Annual Allies in Prevention Awards Luncheon at Maggiano’s at Tyson’s Galleria. The event honored five Northern Virginians who go above and beyond in their efforts to protect children and end child abuse and neglect.
The event also served as the kick-off for the Northern Virginia Child Abuse Prevention Campaign, where SCAN unveiled and distributed its new "Pause for a Child" public education materials for 2009.
