On April 7, 2008, CASA Case Supervisor Ann Caulkins was honored by the Governor’s Advisory Board on Child Abuse and Neglect for her many years of commitment to the prevention, intervention and treatment of child abuse and neglect.

Described in the event program as, “the ultimate child advocate,” Ann received the Certificate of Appreciation Award in recognition of the many ways in which has touched the lives of children and families in Northern Virginia. Today, Ann is an employee of SCAN’s Alexandria/Arlington CASA Program, but she has also been a committed volunteer with the program volunteering more than 500 hours, and she continues to volunteer with Volunteer Emergency Families for Children (VEFC). Ann and her husband, Scott, have served 60 children over the years by providing a safe and caring environment in their home for children when they are at their most vulnerable.
