2011
- SCAN Founder Dave Cleary receives the Champion for Children Award from the Center for Alexandria's Children.
- CASA Volunteer Bob Kuhn honored by The Otimist Club of Arlington at their annual "Respect for the Law" Luncheon.
2010
- Lindsay Warner, a CASA volunteer, received the Volunteer of the Year award by The Family and Children’s Trust Fund.
- Diane Charles was presented with the Liberty Bell Award by the Alexandria Bar Association.
- Diane Charles was recognized for her achievements at the Women’s Giving Circle of Alexandria Spring Celebration.
- Sonia Quinonez was selected to lead SCAN of Northern Virginia.
2009
- SCAN celebrated its 20th Anniversary as an organization.
- Dana Taylor was appointed to the Virginia Council for the Interstate Compact for Juveniles.
- Candace Radoski won the Joan White Grass Roots Volunteer Service Award from Volunteer Alexandria.
- Diane Charles received the All American Hero Award at the “All American Inaugural Ball” hosted by HiBall Events.
- Honorary Board Member David Speck was honored by Volunteer Alexandria with the Marian Van Landingham Lifetime Service Award.
- SCAN’s CASA Program was recognized for compliance with the NCASAA standards after an intensive comprehensive review.
- Gail Ledford received the Community Partnership Award from Volunteer Fairfax.
- Gail Ledford, a SCAN board member, was presented with SCAN’s Clearly Award.
2008
- Ann Caulkins was honored by the Governor’s Advisory Board on Child Abuse and Neglect for her many years of commitment to the prevention, intervention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. She was described as the “ultimate child advocate”.
- Sabrina Black (CASA) received the Local Hero Award from Bank of America.
- Diane Charles was selected as a charter class Nonprofit Round Table fellow, one of 15 nonprofit executives selected from across the DC region.
- Argon ST was presented with the Clearly Award.
- Diane Charles celebrated her 10th anniversary as SCAN’s Executive Director.
2007
- SCAN received the Community Trustee Award for a Nonprofit from Leadership Fairfax at the “Northern Virginia Leadership Awards”.
- Diane Charles was honored at the Alexandria Business Philanthropy Summit, where she received the Nonprofit Leadership Award for both her 8 years of work at SCAN and her continued commitment to the development of Northern Virginia’s nonprofit community.
- Verizon was presented with SCAN’s Cleary Award.
- Malia Kishore, a CASA Volunteer, was honored with the Volunteer Service Award presented by Volunteer Fairfax.
- Dave Cleary, SCAN’s founder, was selected as one of the first group of Alexandria’s Living Legends by the Alexandria Gazette-Packet, along with SCAN honorary board members Marian Van Landingham and Virginia Senator Patsy Ticer.
2006
- Sabrina Black, a CASA volunteer, won SCAN’s first ever Cleary Award.
- SCAN Founder Dave Cleary was awarded the University of Notre Dame William D. Reynolds Award. This award was conferred on a graduate who has performed exceptional work with youth for the betterment of their quality of life.
- Diane Charles was selected by the Governor’s Advisory Board on Child Abuse and Neglect to be a member of the Child Abuse Prevention Committee.
2005
- SCAN was named one of the best small charities in DC by the Catalogue of Philanthropy.
- Linda Johnson of CASA was presented with the Volunteer of the Year Award by The Family and Children’s Trust Fund.
- Mary Phelps and HiBall Events were honored at SCAN’s Toast to Hope for their partnership and support in SCAN’s efforts to prevent abuse and neglect.
2004
- SCAN launched the Allies in Prevention Coalition, a coalition which engages child and family welfare advocates in communicating regional messages to prevent child abuse and promote children's well-being in Northern Virginia.
- Tim Stock, a volunteer with the CASA Program, received the UNICARE Health Plan of Virginia’s Community Service Award.
- Judge Rideont, an Alexandria Juvenile Court Judge, won the National CASA Association Jude of the Year Award, presented at the CASA National Conference.
2003
- Sabrina Black, a CASA Volunteer, was nominated for a Fairfax County Volunteer of the Year Award, sponsored by Volunteer Fairfax.
2002
- Volunteer Doris Gazin received the Alexandria Child Welfare Partnership Everyday Hero award.
- Paul LeRoux of Insty - Prints was recognized at the Annual Alexandria Business Philanthropy Summit for their in – kind printing support of SCAN.
- SCAN was presented with the Community Partner of the Year Award by the Hispanic Committee of Virginia.
2001
- Volunteer Coordinator Shawna Dillner won the Joan White Volunteer Administrator Award for diligence in working with volunteers in the CASA program in Alexandria.
- Ann Caulkins, a SCAN volunteer, won the Rising Star Award at the “Salute to Women Awards Annual Banquet”.
2000
- Kim Koch, SCAN’s Program Director, was honored by UPN 20 and Safeway for her service to the community at the 7th Annual “Women Making a Difference” awards ceremony at the Kennedy Center.
1999
- David Cleary won the Alexandria Volunteer Bureau’s Joan White Grass Roots Volunteer Service Award.
- Carter Flemming, a volunteer with the Alexandria CASA program, received the Margquerite Payez Leadership Award at the Alexandria Commission on Women’s 25th anniversary celebration.
