AN OPEN HOUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS
On Friday, April 15th, the Center for Alexandria's Children will open its doors to the public for a special open house. SCAN hosts a number of its programs - including playgroups and parenting classes - at this facility, which opened 2 years ago.

From 12:00 - 5:00 PM, the event will offer familes SafeAssured TM Digital ID kits for children and will include an information fair on community resources for children and families. There will also be children's activities and light refreshments.

PARENTING AND THE ECONOMY...SCAN's Parent Resource Center
Being a parent today may seem especially tough. With the added stress of unemployment, foreclosure or general financial stress, parents need more support than ever before.

Please share SCAN's Online Parent Resource Center with parents you know. Right now we're highlighting a fact sheet on Parenting in Times of Economic Stress, as well as a new Family Calendar with 30 days full of low (or no) cost activities. (Both in English & Spanish!)

Thank you for your continued interest in and support of SCAN.  You are helping us build hope for children and families across Northern Virginia!
