"Beyond Charity" Report published

NPR Beyond Charity Report
On November 26, the Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington unveiled a groundbreaking report on how the nonprofit community impacts Greater Washington.

"BEYOND CHARITY: RECOGNIZING RETURN ON INVESTMENT" is the result of a yearlong effort to answer, "What difference do nonprofits make?" In collaboration with the World Bank Group, Beyond Charity reveals some of the many ways in which nonprofits raise the quality of life for all of us in Greater Washington, and are the lifelines to our most vulnerable neighbors.

Return on investment is about more than dollars and cents.  When local nonprofits collaborate with government, business and concerned citizens in pursuit of a common goal -- a stronger Washington-area community -- everyone profits.

SCAN is a member of the Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington, and Executive Director Diane Charles is a Charter Member of the organization's Fellowship Program

SCAN was mentioned in the

Washington Post's front-page coverage of the report.

Thank you for your continued interest in and support of SCAN.  You are helping us build hope for children and families across Northern Virginia!

Sincerely,

The SCAN Team
