Happy New Year! We are
so excited to kick off another year working to
prevent child abuse and neglect here in Northern
Virginia, especially because friends like
YOU have been so generous in our Give 12 by 2012 campaign!
We've
already surpassed our goal of raising
$12,000 by January 12th, so we've set a new
goal: $20,000. An additional $8,000 will
fully fund an additional CASA
training, which means we can equip 10 NEW
volunteers to advocate for more abused and
neglected children in Alexandria and
Arlington.
> Help us reach our GIVE 12 BY 2012
goal! |

SCAN: SHARON CRILLY
Sharon Crilly is SCAN's
newest staff member. She joined us in November as
our Community Educator through a grant from the
Virginia Department of Social Services. Sharon
will provide Darkness to Light trainings in
Loudoun and Prince William in an effort to empower
parents, individuals and organizations to take
action in the prevention of child sexual
abuse. She has already provided one of
these child sexual abuse prevention trainings
for SCAN staff (see the picture of Sharon [front]
and staff at right), and will continue to
train more individuals across the region using the
Darkness to Light program.
