AND MORE!

CASA
VOLUNTEER HONORED BY
OPTIMISTS
Bob Kuhn was sworn in as a
CASA volunteer in 2009, and has been a remarkable
advocate for children ever since. Last month he
was honored for his work by the Optimist Club of Arlington at the
organization's annual "Respect for Law"
Luncheon. Arlington Judge Jim Almand
(far right) presented the award to Bob, who
was honored along with representatives from
Arlington's police and sheriff departments. We
continue to be amazed by our volunteers
and thrilled when the community celebrates their
impact on children and families!
Congratulations,
Bob!

WHO
IS SCAN? MEET VOLUNTEER SHARON
SELLERS
In 2007, Sharon
Sellers (pictured at right, third from
left) learned about SCAN's programs and
immediately contacted us to find out how she could
get involved. She signed on to volunteer at our
Toast to Hope that November, and at the Golf
Tournament the following spring. But Sharon's
involvement grew exponentially when she started
getting her friends involved! She now volunteers
regularly at our special events and shares
information in her personal networks, recruiting
more volunteers for the events that are so
critical to our funding. Thank you, Sharon, for
spreading the word about volunteering at
