SCAN's 2008 Year at a Glance

NOVEMBER 2009

Last week, a new report by the advocacy group Every Child Matters focused on the disturbing rise of child deaths in the United States due to maltreatment. Local reports earlier in the year pointed to an increase in family violence across Northern Virginia as well. We can each make a difference - take action with SCAN!

BID TODAY ON TOAST TO HOPE SILENT AUCTION ITEMS!  SCAN's Toast to Hope
On November 14th, friends of SCAN will gather for the 7th Annual Toast to Hope, an evening of wine tastings, gourmet cuisine and silent auction to support SCAN.

Start celebrating now by placing EARLY BIDS on the fantastic items up for grabs in the Silent Auction.  Pre-bids will be accepted by fax through November 12th.

HELPING PARENTS BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS
SCAN will host a new parenting workshop this month in Spanish focused on teaching parents how to strengthen their relationships with partners.  On November 18th, join SCAN's Padres Unidos Support Group at the Sacramento Neighborhood Center for this FREE workshop.
