5-Year-Old Donates Baby Items for Birthday

November 1, 2017

November 1, 2017–Natalie Lopez-Greif recently celebrated her 5th birthday, and made a special request to friends attending her party. Instead of gifts, she asked her guests to bring baby items that could be donated to support SCAN’s new Baby Box initiative. Earlier this year, SCAN expanded its Operation Safe Babies program to include baby boxes and education through the Baby Box Co. and Baby Box University.  Expecting parents can go to www.babyboxuniversity.com and participate in an interactive educational training designed to make sure they know about safe sleep, breast feeding, how to use the baby box, and other important health and developmental information.  After successfully taking a quiz at the end of the online training, expecting parents will receive a certificate good for one Baby Box filled with a few supplies for baby.

Natalie’s generous delivery of gifts is a great example — especially around the holidays — of a creative way to celebrate while supporting an important cause. Interested in organizing a donation of your own? Browse SCAN’s WISH LIST for a list of items currently needed to serve children and families in our programs. Questions?
