SCAN Welcomes New Executive Director Leah Fraley

July 31, 2018–SCAN announced today that Leah Fraley will join the organization as its next Executive Director, effective August 6.

“Ms. Fraley is an accomplished nonprofit executive with nearly two decades of experience  including a strong background in executive leadership and development,” notes Laura Yager, President of SCAN’s Board of Directors.

Leah comes to SCAN from the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) based in Alexandria. ICMEC identifies gaps in the global community’s ability to protect children from abduction, sexual abuse and exploitation, and assembles the necessary people, resources and tools, to fills those gaps – all with the goal of making the world a safer place for children.

Before her time at ICMEC, Leah served as the Executive Director at Holy Cross Health Foundation and the United Way of Washington County.  Over her career, Leah has lead large and small fundraising campaigns, directed international marketing initiatives, developed programs and initiatives, managed volunteer and membership programs, advocated for families, and planned special events and conferences.

Leah graduated summa cum laude from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Public Administration.  She and her husband, Jeff, have four children (and a King Charles Spaniel) and live in Alexandria, Virginia.  When she has time to relax, Leah enjoys painting and is an avid hiker and cyclist.

“Leah has a true passion for SCAN’s mission,” adds Yager. “I envision a strong and vibrant future for SCAN.”
