Development Committee Focusing on cultivating major donors and corporate partners, as well as working with SCAN’s staff and Board to plan for and secure a diversified base of financial and inkind resources to support SCAN’s programs.

Public Education & Advocacy Committee / The primary focus of the Public Education & Advocacy Committee is development and oversight of public awareness activities related to SCAN’s Strategic Plan (including media activities, campaigns, and evidence-based messaging); plus coordinating board advocacy through speaking at public hearings, community groups, and other opportunities that arise to influence decision-makers to support SCAN’s policy agenda.

Governance & Strategic Planning Committee / The primary focus of the Governance Committee is strategic planning for the organization; coordination of nominations, recommendations and orientation of new members for the Board; periodic review of the organization’s Bylaws and recommendations for amendments as necessary; board self-evaluation; nominations for officers and committee chairs each spring; and exit interviews with exiting board members/new alumni.
