Safer Summers with SCAN

Teaching summer staff to prevent and respond to abuse.

With mandated reporter training.

57% of parents
fear their child might experience some form of abuse at camp.

Summer is magic for children. Protect that magic by giving seasonal staff tools to recognize and respond to abuse. NOVA’s summer youth programs are invited to take advantage of this free training with child protection experts.

Participants will not only become certified mandatory reporters in the state of Virginia but will learn…

Boundary setting
Strategies to identify and reduce the risk of abuse
Trauma-informed tips
to respond to disclosures
& so much more to
keep kids safe this summer

For smaller teams & individuals

Join us virtually for an open session.

We’re hosting drop-in sessions for seasonal staff in June. Sessions are open to anyone working with NOVA’s children this summer. For teams with fewer than 25 staff, we recommend signing up for an open workshop below.

For large teams & organizations

We specialize in group workshops.

Teams of 25+ can apply for a personalized, private workshop for the whole team.

Add this free training to your employee onboarding or invite us to a staff lunch and learn. Our team can host this training as an in-person workshop at your facility, or hold a private virtual training reserved just for your team.

Your staff will leave with critical tools to keep kids safe all summer, and your clients will feel at ease knowing your organization makes children’s safety a real priority.
