Speak Up for Children Advocacy Day
On November 18, SCAN hosted its 4th Annual Speak Up for Children Training for Virginia Advocactes. (Download a Fact Sheet on the event here.) In partnership with Prevent Child Abuse Virginia and with support from Verizon, SCAN provided a day of training on legislative process, how to be an effective advocate and policy advocates. Elected officials also participate on a Legislative Panel to discuss key issues affecting vulnerable children and families which will be on the agenda in the upcoming Virginia General Assembly session.
