Why SCAN?
For 35 years, Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) of NOVA has been the only organization focused solely on preventing child abuse and neglect in Northern Virginia.
As a survivor-led team of child advocates, we put children at the center of everything we do to keep them safe from abuse in all the places they live, learn, work, and play. We work directly with families, foster youth, juvenile courts, youth-serving organizations, and community leaders to make Northern Virginia a safe place for every child to grow up.

My job title is Tenant Engagement Manager, but it’s also Court Appointed Special Advocate at SCAN. You guys know me. I want you to know what I believe in. We’ve selected SCAN for this critical fundraiser because we care about children and we care about their future.

Any individuals that make a Child Abuse Prevention Month donation will be entered in a gift card raffle!

$500 can give teachers training to recognize & respond to abuse
$1,000 can give foster youth a CASA Volunteer
$2,000 can give a family 1:1 parent coaching
$5,000 could sponsor a class for 30+ parents
Tenants that make a Child Abuse Prevention Month gift of $500 or more will have their logo featured on SCAN’s website for a full year and be listed in our annual report. Tenants that make a gift of $2,000 or more will receive a comprehensive recognition package.
The office that raises the most for Child Abuse Prevention Month will win breakfast provided by Greensboro Park!* Each week, we’ll share leaderboard and progress updates until we reach our goal for SCAN and NOVA’s children!
